El Amanecer: Ballet Folklórico La Joya de Mexico's 6th annual showcase

Last year we were unable to host our annual showcase due to COVID-19. We began this year by learning all of our dances virtually and only recently began practicing together in person. All practice, filming, and photoshoots have been outdoors and conducted in small groups of 2-3 in accordance to both California and UCSD COVID-19 regulations with frequent testing, social distancing, and masks.

Thanks to everyone’s strong efforts and dedication, we are extremely excited that we are able to present this year's showcase virtually.

The significance of our title, El Amanecer, which translates to the sunrise, ties back to our experience with COVID-19. We are all coming out of a dark night where we had difficult times but we know that because of our resilience, there will always be bright days ahead. Thank you for your support and enjoy the show!
