About us

Ballet Folklórico La Joya De Mexico is a student-run recreational club at UC San Diego founded in 1979. Our goal is to preserve and share the art and culture of Mexican Folklórico. We perform dances from 8 different regions of Mexico such as Jalisco, Sinaloa, Michoacán, Guerrero, Veracruz, Chiapas, Norteno, and Baja California.

We have performed at throughout the San Diego community including Balboa Park's December Nights, Sea World, and all around UC San Diego.

We accept new members throughout fall and winter quarter. Message us to find out how to become a member of our team!
